Yeah but diamonds are only expensive because they're rare. If it rained diamonds on earth the market would be over saturated and diamonds would be worthless (in terms of money...)

Diamonds are not rare one company controls most of the distribution they deliberately create a shortage to make them more valuable
I don't think you realize just how many types of Diamonds exist. There are over 200 different types, not all of them are clear and bland and some even fluoresce depending on what kind of light shines on them.

Yeah, not only are diamonds way overpriced (they cost around 2000% (that was not a typo) more than they should because of marriage scams), if marketing stays the way it is, diamonds will be not nearly as valuable in around 20-30 years. Want a stone that might be worth something in the future, or one that looks pretty? Look more into amethyst and other semi-precious, at least you won't go into debt.
"Fake" diamonds can be almost indistinguishable from the real thing, and often look better than all by the highest range of real ones out there. They also usually come at a fraction of the price so they can be a pretty good alternative as well.

Honestly fuck them I'm glad they got bought out by Petra/Ekepa
Well, maybe not ugly..that's too strong a word. They're just not as pretty as other stones in my opinion
