I know! I used to think planking was a joke but I started doing it along with reverse crunches and my lower belly fat disappeared. I'm up to 1.5 min plank..break for a minute then again for another 1.5 min
"Spot training", where you exercise one muscle group to reduce fat in that area is a myth. It'll improve your muscle strength though. Fat burns uniformly across the body, so cardio is probably the best option for weight loss
