I don't think this has anything to do with intellect or IQ; I think it would prevent 14-year-olds from acting like they know anything about parenting or college or full-time employment, or paying taxes, etc.

You can reply btw
Just because they're 13 or some shit, doesn't mean they haven't looked up their topic and developed a reasonable argument
What do you mean intelect doesn't matter? You'd rather have a dumb 30 year old arguing, than a well read twelve year old
@german_satan Yeah, but unless they've done just that, I doubt they'd have the confidence to post those shitty instant opinions that they treat like the word of god.

I'm just saying that you don't have to find anyone's argument as valid if they sound stupid
Their age doesn't have to matter
No, you're right, it doesn't. I just said that unless a kid IS well educated on the topic, they'd probably be less likely to go raving on a topic they know next to nothing about.
I reply if I want. I don't if I don't.
I didn't reply because I wasn't talking to you. I was commenting on the post, referring to the above comments generally.
The point of the post still seems to be that 14yos might be deterred from posting about things they don't understand, like WHAT THE '90S FELT LIKE.

Then teenagers would be dismissed on EVERY topic. Yeah, sure there are some things they can't talk about coherently, like being a parent. But in any argument, on any topic, no matter how much research is done, most people are going to dismiss what the teenager says because they're 'young and don't know anything yet.' This would effectively bar anything a teenager says from carrying any weight and that is not okay. 20
Cake is right, IQ is better
