This is in a comic book shop, not a convention. At a con, you let your freak flag fly proudly. The "street clothed" attendees at the odd ones out there.
If this is everday dress, that's a red flag.

Sorry, unless A) she showed up to work in said comic book shop and B) the comic shop has a dress code that the clothes in question are violating, then anybody giving her shit about her outfit needs to shut the fuck up. There is no "dress code" for existing, or for being a customer, unless it's posted on the door of the shop.

It's a comic book shop, I'd say that's a pretty good place to wear this.

People who have to validate themselves by saying normal is just a setting on a washing machine usually aren't people you want to be around.

People who think they're called upon to comment upon your life outlook without invitation are almost *never* people you want to be around.

There is nothing truly normal. And once, again, you make assumptions based on one picture. Even if it speaks 1.000 words, you don't know these people.
