Rick is an alcoholic mad scientist who took his grandson, Morty, into trips on another planets/dimensions/times where he has to do some fucked up things to survive, so he's taking example on his grandpa to forget it all

Rick drags Morty on his adventures and forces Morty to take the fall for a lot of misfortunes or has him do horrifying things. In this comic, Morty is drinking his problems away, just like Ruck does, and Rick is heartbroken at what he has turned his once happy and optimistic grandson to
It gets even better when you realize that it's not too impossible that Morty will grow up and become his own grandfather. There are a few clues in the show that point towards Morty and Rick being the same person just older. This could be the start of the transition or something.
He didn't put his head down, he was so devastated at losing Unity that he drank so much that he passed out. Not trying to come off as dickish, I just care so much about this show that I want to make sure the emotional impact is properly conveyed. Honestly it's kind of unhealthy how much I care about this cartoon show.
Also, you know how some episodes seem to not be correct? Like missing some stuff from previous episodes, but also still keeping some? I think it's on purpose. Cause when evil Rick was going through Ricks memories, there weren't any memories of him and baby Morty, but in his lab even near the start, he has a picture of him holding baby Morty. I believe Rick has been dimension hopping so much, that he isn't 100% sure which reality is actually his, and that he doesn't always come back to the one he was staying in most recently, nor does he care. As long as it's close enough, he will stay until he goes on another adventure. So, I do not think he's even sure, or cares which universe he is in, or which Morty he is with.

There's evidence of that with Jerry when Rick dropped him off at the Harry Day Care. When it asked which timeline Jerry was from, Rick wrote N/A
You know how I know Rick cares? In Meseeks and Destroy, when Morty leaves the bathroom, he wants to leave, right? But Rick is all, "Nah, dude, I'm on a roll." However, when he sees Morty's would-be rapist, Mr. Jellybean, you can see Rick's eyes following him. He then does a full 180, telling Morty that he just won a bunch of shmeckles(?) and they can pay for a ride, then give the rest to the villagers. Also he kills Mr. Jellybean.
He cares only when it's something actually important. He tries not to care at all, because thats what he wants to be, invincible. But yet, he can't help himself. It's actually really deep.
It's an odd situation. Rick cares for Morty somewhat but not enough to go out of his way or hurt himself over. He'd happily kill someone who hurt Morty - as long as that person wasn't too difficult to find. Rick was perfectly happy to leave Morty's would be rapist alive, however Rick saw him at the last moment and decided that he should kill him.
You wouldn't actively go outside and try to find a quarter on the ground, but if you see one then you're gonna pick it up.
But killing King Jellybean any earlier would've only made the situation worse. There would have been a fight, and even more people would have died. Morty doesn't like it when anyone dies, so killing Jwllybean on the way out simultaneously avenges Morty and prevents him from feeling guilty over unnecessary loss of life.
Him killing King Jelly Bean was a side thought. If it wasn't then he wouldn't have stuck his hand in the portal to kill him - he would've stayed behind to make sure he was killed.
I also just noticed that in one of the frames of this, Morty was laying with Rick's hair's shadow over his head as though it were his own. Perhaps it was a little iconic thing to show that Morty is becoming more like Rick in this panel? Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
morty would have to pretty much fuck his grandma
Here's the video
Oh
OH
This changes that scene for me
Damn

As for the hair/shadow thing, that was definitely intentional.
