Peter Capaldi is a great actor, but I don't think he was a good fit as the Doctor. To be fair, his storyline was non-existent at best and utter garbage most of the time. Sure, there were some good episodes, but mostly it was a bunch of random junk thrown together with no particular goal. Additionally, the majority of his supporting cast were not very good or at least lacked compatibility with him or each other. It all felt very forced, which was ridiculous, since there was no cohesion in the storyline. Capaldi also lacked a dynamic range, being just an arrogant curmudgeonly tantrum-throwing child nearly the entire time. Compared to the truly epic, intricately interwoven stuff that happened in previous seasons, how could you possibly be satisfied with Capaldi's era?
(-.-)is this real? Seriously oh god.(-.-)
I guess I just have to see how it goes. I mean who knows maybe the person will be good they all been great so far. My Dad always said one day this might happen. He was actually looking forward to this happening. I wish he had a chance before he died to see it happen.
Well, I can't see how it could get much worse, so she has a real good shot at being responsible for bringing the show back from the brink of utter failure.
Sadly... or maybe not... the Capaldi seasons have had the worst ratings since the show came back in 2005.
She's going to need to be on par with Tennant Season 4 and Smith Season 5.
The Doctor being a woman will change alot of things in the show. I am just fearing that the change will be to great. And also I am not a fan of Jodi Whittaker. I don't really like her. That is why I am mainly worried. I never really liked her.
But hay I said I will give it a chance. Most people wouldn't even do that. Hell when Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi started I didn't like them but by the end of thier first episode I loved them so I am willing to give hwr a shot.
I think over the day I've warmed up to the idea of a female doctor, I mean, its nice to see a change, and if anything I'm glad they didn't cast some ott "I'm a nerd!!" Type character
Ok, but like if the Doctor can regenerate into anyone, why was he a dude for literally all the other seasons? You know, I'm not gonna scream "SJWs ruined muh Doctor Who!" but it does seem a *little* bit SJW-y, I have nothing against this actress and if they keep Moffat's writing it's going to be epic either way, I just thought the Doctor was established as a man. Just like River only regenerated as female, I thought gender is the only thing that stays fixed, and the Master was just an anomaly because something went wrong with his regeneration. To be honest though the female Master (or Missy) was pretty epic so maybe Jodie will as well.
And despite the ratings, I actually liked Capaldi. He was obviously not as epic as Tennant or Smith, but about on par with Eccleston, maybe better. And that episode with River and the Singing Towers just melted my heart ;–;
I was hoping the first female lead would be a red head. No idea why. Maybe because red heads are usually depicted as rebellious and the Doctor is the epitome of that for me.
the beginning of the end we don't need a female doctor and we don't need a black one the show was great before now it just sucks.there going to diversity it to death.
The Doctor can regenerate as anyone... as long as the writing isn't shit it makes no difference whether the Doctor is a woman or a man or white or black.
Hope the new one will be just as good
