No actually the first is correct, the body can't 'catch up' on sleep. We need to go through all 5 stages a few times to be completely rested and give time for the body to restore/repair. Sleep is EXTREMELY important for many things then just feeling rested

It depends on your sleeping and eating patterns. If you get into the pattern of eating then sleeping all the time it can lead to weight gain because your not burning off the calories your consuming.
Ah, gotcha. That makes sense. Welp, I'm on a diet right now (meaning I downloaded a calorie counting app and I'm trying to stay within the limits of losing weight) so I guess it's not that big of a worry for me since I'm consuming only like 1250 calories a day and working out a bit. But yeah sometimes it's good to learn some habits to make this kind of stuff automatic.
