how come professionally trained officers mistake a 20 yo to an underage girl & water to beer? And what did she do that made they think it's necessary to use violence?
Undercover state Beverage Control Agents tried to question her because the water she bought looked like beer. She freaked out when they began yelling at her and didn't know what to do. One of her friends told her the badges were fake, so she started her car and took off, hitting two agents in the process. She was later arrested at a stop light for fleeing and assault. She originally claimed the agents never identified themselves, but later said one of her friends said the badges were fake and "just, go, go, go." She settled recently for $200,000.
Still can't blame her. Undercover agents just look like random people. Never assume a badge is real. When in this situation drive to a local police station.
I thought the settlement was undisclosed.
The investigation also revealed that the "undercover" officers broke every single rule in the book and were also were found to have been also chargeable with assault
