They make it very difficult to get your money, lots of paperwork and red tape, lots of loop holes and little things. But yes, most branches offer educational opportunities and some type of tuition program. Many scholarships and programs also exist for those in or formarly in the services. If you want it bad enough and play smart you can do very well in life off a military career. You can also do very poorly in life. Like college the service shows you a way, teaches you skills and works to improve your character where it can. Every person will get something different out of it based on who they are as a person, and luck of their environment and people around them. Not everyone in the service is a paragon of the virtues of their branch, but most are intelligent skilled people.
