I HATE when people force their animals to live by their ideals. Especially because pets literally can't speak for themselves. I would never force my dogs to go vegan or vegetarian if I did.
I COULD go vegan. The health benefits appeal to me and the smell of meat (Particularly bacon) makes my stomach turn. My issue is that it is expensive and inconvenient. Where the hell can I go in Georgia to get a vegan meal on the way home? My choices are japanese, chinese, Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, and other places where the entire meals are just variants of some form of meat.
Yeah ? They're saying if they went vegan they wouldn't make their dog go vegan with them because pets cannot live with a vegan diet ?
And then you go on about how YOU could go vegan.
They said something about them going vegan, so I replied with something about veganism. I'm sorry that you lack the mental capacity to make the connection.
Did the right thing 100%.
I've contemplated stealing a dog from someone who was once my friend specifically because he scared my cat away when I specifically told him to stay in my car. There was construction next door and my ninja cat explored; the people next door didn't know where she came from and put her outside my neighborhood; I later found her... as I was trying to go pick her up he literally ran at her screaming and she sprinted off.
I didn't only because I knew it would be damaging to both the dog and his girlfriend, who were both innocent.
I trust that karma will teach him his lesson eventually (I don't want punishment, just teaching).
:( I'm sorry that your once-friend is a selfish idiot. And that it cost you your cat - if that had happened with my dog I'd never have spoken to that person again. What makes my blood boil is that people who pull that kind of stunt tend never to admit they did anything wrong...
Animals have rights too as it's illegal to abuse your pets or kill them for any other reason than they're dying or sick and needed to be put down/a threat to safety
But human rights exede animal rights. It's called species bias. It's also why we happily eat other animals, but not humans, however, that's for another time.
No, I was adding more information to your animals have rights post. Human rights always override those of animal rights. Owning an animal is not a right therefore the animal's right to not be abused overrides this privilege.
No matter how you try to justify it by saying that animals and humans are not the same or it’s their property blah blah I will never be okay with someone abusing their animal and I am very glad OP stole that cat
And then you go on about how YOU could go vegan.
At this point I've realized it's probably best to just ignore sir_spiderman... he's apparently nuts.
And yeah

It wasn't your cat to save.
You own your pets, you don't own your children, and people have rights.
That's the difference.
