But where Captain planet fights criminals as he represents earth, he is symbolizing that earth can easily fend for itself, when in reality it really does need saving
But Captain Planet always said it was only when their powers combine could he be able to save the planet. So it takes all us working together to help the planet beat pollution. And even though he did a lot of work he always needed the help of the kids to finish the fight with the bad guys.
But if you read the Manga during the global warming arc, Captain planet ditched the kids after realizing that they left their computers on for too long, which means that he is capable of fighting for himself
