I think this may have happened, it doesn’t seem so far out. At least not in my experience.

During finals week, you can see all sorts if students chilling in the hallways before class doing last minute studying or just cram reviews.
This one guy sighed heavily and just put his book on the ground and used it as a pillow and fell asleep right on the hallway.
People would tip toe around him because they didn't want to wake him up and another guy put a blanket on him and left

That story was amazing.
