There's a few options. Beyond all sorts of scholarships there's economic qualified help like FAFSA, and public colleges do have financial aid that only needs repaid if you don't finish your degree or take too long. The other word you may be searching for is a grant. They tend to not be as common or as much as other aids, but every bit helps. Community college often has much more available in aid, so 2 years of Jc and completing your major at a university will still give you a degree with a fancy name on it. Another one to look at is many employers offer tuition aid, or reimbursement. Target used to pay up to $7000 a semester to employees seeking a CPA, and would pay the CPA fees yearly for as long as you were employed by them. Their founders wife or something was big on CPA stuff or something so they have a sort of foundation thing. Lots of options, just gotta look, work, and be lucky. Best wishes on the hunt rogue.
Thanks. I'm looking towards becoming a teacher and my counselor mentioned there's a thing ( called title 3 or something ? I forget at the moment ) that will pay for all your schooling or an amount of it if you work in one of their schools for a few years when you graduate so that's another option for me.
That's cool. Any particular subject/grade you have in mind to teach? The great news is yeah- if you're planning to be an educator there are a whole bunch of programs and foundations aimed at helping you get there. There are also many financiers and banks which offer special programs for teachers.
I don't know if I'd go so far as to be awed. How much knowledge is really in that room? Assuming new graduates not working in their fields, the "knowledge" they have is mostly whatever they read or picked up from teachers in a standardized program. Now we assume at least two people must share a major- their knowledge base and program are similar enough that their knowledge isn't additive. Their intelligence and opinions may be but not the knowledge. So now we can safely say the total knowledge in the room is roughly equivalent to a room full of their teachers and or a stack of books or no greater than the combined knowledge of any large group of people- google is free and can provide any of the above information- so I might rephrase it not as knowledge, but a room full of people who's minds have been trained to a certain way of thinking that may help them succeed in a given field.
major buzzkill... even more of a buzzkill than that MASSIVE debt.
Anyway, yeah... let's stop educating people, that'll be SOOOOO cheaper for the rest of us.
I OWE NOTHING! BWAHAHAHHAHAHA! I never borrowed either. I can't appreciate debt-free like most, but i'm not gonna lie, it still feels fucking incredible.
I recently got a accepted to a college, and I sent in an application for a full ride scholarship since I qualify, as an alternative to the academic one I got. Wish me luck! I don’t want to be in debt XD
So technically I'm paying for 2 years
