You said people are like plants. Since humans can't literally live off shit, I assumed you were talking about things plants grow off of. Then again, technically, people CAN and DO eat dead bodies, which provide nutrition, and also makes good fertilizer for plants, so it could be argued corpses make better growing material than shit.
Still, I don't disagree with your original comment at all, and it makes a nice metaphor. "If you can't grow from dead bodies, what can you grow from?" Has a bit too much of a homicidal ring to it to truly be effective.
Humans growing and plants growing have different connotations. For something to fit the metaphor it has to both grow plants physically and grow people emotional/mentally. Shit works because it also has multiple connotations. Dead bodies have only one.
If you want to get technical, humans can grow off dead bodies, both from a nutritional aspect, and from an emotional one. Humans exposed to traumatic things in the right conditions, such as death, will grow and have a better ability to cope with things later on in life. Dead bodies can, literally, fall into the category of "shit" you have to deal with, which brings the entire thing full circle. Either way, it was simply intended to be a joke.
Cuz trauma is not a thing and you totally don't act differently based on your previous experiences. If you don't care about my feelings, why should I yours?
" If you don't care about my feelings, why should I yours? "
That can go both ways. If you don't care enough about my feelings to not treat me shitty then excuse it because of your trauma, why should I let you try and excuse your shitty behavior when you clearly don't care about how I feel enough to own up to it and not excuse it ?
Yup, goes both ways. Feelings are complicated, you win some you lose some. But you can't expect people to always put your feelings in front of theirs. Also, owning up could also mean not denying it, you can say that your trauma caused it sure, but did you do it? Yeah. You don't like someone who treats you badly because of trauma? Sure. Can they still treat you badly? Yup. Also, just how bad of a behaviour are we talking about? Because famousone just straight up said dysfunctional human being.
