No, but that doesn't matter, there should be a space between words. The "complaints" should have been either dropped down to the second line or hyphenated so part of the word was on the first line and the rest on the next. That is just basic publishing. Otherwise it look sloppy and unprofessional, not to mention illegible, which is the opposite of what any publication wants.
But couldn't the page layout people yell over to the content editors and be all like "yo mofo give me a word at least 3 characters shorter to replace numerous so it don't look like ass"
