But most people have access to Meadows, gardens, woods, and forests at the very least, and there's nothing that makes those particular settings stand apart from locations in the real world.

Also I'm preeeeeetty sure Olympus is a real mountain. It may not have Zeus's living room on top of it though.
And Scotland's full of castles, maybe not the exact one from Brave but you can find castles that come pretty damn close.

Anyway you don't have to pay loads of money to even go there. If you read the first couple of pages of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, you'll feel like you've lived in that cathedral your whole life. The level of detail and vividness in his description of the place is astounding.
