I hadn’t thought about it but I assume the clergymen get to go to heaven according to their rules. They have to ask God’s forgiveness and they are absolved of the sin in his eyes. Any Catholics around that know whether that is true?

Catholics believe in different levels of sin. So if you killed someone, unless you’re completely guilty and really want to change it’s a lot different than if you lied to your mom about eating the last cookie from the cookie jar. Not all sins are the same and not all sins can be forgiven if you’re not truly sorry.

Speaking from experience, hurting children should be an unforgivable offense in any respect, at least to me it is. I turned on my ex for hurting both my child and the other father's child, to me she is an unforgivable and I will bear my hatred for her for eternity!
