There are organizations and individual people who throw Cuddle Parties(I call them cuddle puddles), and it's exactly as described in the first part of this post. My husband and I have been to a few, they're super fun and relaxing. A lot of them are free to attend, some of the ones put on by organizations have a small fee. But always research the group or individual before attending because some of them can seem a little sketchy, some of the cuddle parties put on by individuals are known to be overrun by creeps who try to sneak a grab, and some have a lot of open drug use which can make things uncomfortable
That's the beauty of it, if you don't want to be touched just say so. I didn't want to cuddle my first time so I said I'm here to feel this out. Nobody touched me and everyone was cool witht that. I got comfortable with a certain group of people and now I love it. There's a girl in one of the groups that only goes to hold hands. I've seen a couple who only goes to cuddle eachother and visit with everyone else. I've heard of people who don't cuddle at all because of personal issues, they just like hanging out and seeing other people be close.
As for sketchy people, I've only heard of them, never actually experienced them. But people tend to watch out for eachother...if someone touches someone else inappropriately it tends to result in expulsion from the group(depending on the group which is why I say research before attending)
