Chicago has the highest numbers, but Baltimore actually has the highest percapita in the United States. Chicago's numbers are actually down significantly from previous years, in 2017 they only had 650 murders, down from 762 in 2016. Even then its nowhere near NYC in the 90s. Detroit doesn't even make the top 5.
My dad still is paranoid about visiting NYC. I tout off the long statistical list that proves NYC is safer than both where I am now and where he is. Doesn't work. It's like telling people who are afraid of flying that they are actually statistically least likely to die flying.
@mistoffelees (Nice username btw XD) that data is skewed specifically because of the "terrorism". That is going to skew NYC down the list. Also, that's international. Might want to re-read... this was about country, meaning in the US.
