I do know that, but I assumed it was her own prom though bc I doubt a news article would write about a girl who got invited to someone else's prom and brought her daughter
Well at least she's happy.
Question: if a teen is pregnant but is able to provide and take care of the child unassisted is there an issue with the pregnancy?
Medically, yes. You body really isn’t ready to carry a baby and give birth until about 20-21 years old. All pregnancies before that age are risky and are super dangerous before 16 years old.
Not to mention the brain isn't even close to being developed.
There's also very few circumstances I've ever heard of where a teenager had a baby and was able to care for it on their own.
Assuming on their own/"unassisted" implies they:
-Either live away from their parents and/or pay rent wherever they live
-Are able to make any and all necessary legal decisions on behalf of themself and their children, which would usually require legal emancipation
-Are able to provide at bare minimum the necessities of life without assistance of any kind, including financial aid/child care services that they don't pay for, etc etc etc
'
These are things that a lot of adult single parents have a difficult time pulling off, so a teenager being able to do them is pretty close to impossible, even if the other parent of the baby gets involved.
That in mind, I have known some people who had children very young (16/17/etc). Some of them it seems they were great parents who could not love their children more.
Others... there isn't much hope for the kids they spawned, I'm sad to say. Most of them are already showing extreme signs of dysfunction.
But all of the parents in these scenarios did have help, usually involving a huge amount of support from their families
