Story time!
My son had a field trip to the local zoo and park- it had one of these. The school banned them after broken arms and legs of course (*insert eye roll*) so these kids are begging me to spin them as fast as I can. So- I did. My son flew off the side and laughed and got back on after it stopped. Then he and another kid were running around it to speed it up themselves, the other kid tripped and my son brutally ran across his back before I could drag him out of the way. After I checked for blood (weirdos were laughing still) we (teacher and I) sent them back for more.
Lots of bruises. Lots of fun.
I both loved and hated these as a kid. I loved riding them but I was usually the strongest kid on the playground so I usually ended up spinning it for everyone else.

Lots of hydrogen peroxide bubbles, too.
