I'm more interested in the demographics doing the voting. Is it mostly guys that think guys cuddling is gay? Is it girls who think that? Is it an even split?
I mean, my sister takes nude showers with her friends. She's like 16 now. I'd say that's pretty gay, but she thinks it isn't. I don't think they do it commonly, but they did it at least once on the rare occasion I went to my father's house. I really want her to be a lesbian tbh. Our brother is in jail, my other one is a twenty-five year old badass who smokes, and I'm me with a whole host of issues you're not allowed to know about. She can't be normal. She has to be a raving lesbian. I want her to be butch. I want to see her as a feminist lesbian who refuses to shave her armpits. Nobody can be normal in our house.
I don't have personal information. I tell everyone exactly what I'm thinking at the time. My therapist called it "A dangerous lack of empathy and social understanding" but I call it being a dangerously lacking in empathy and lacking an understanding of social norms.
"Gay" is a very loose term in this scenario, it can means a lot of things in different people's opinions. Me, I say they're both gay, but what's wrong with that?
Sexuality exists on a spectrum- no one is 100% “straight” or not to an observer. Think about this- people can hug their same sex parent, kiss them, take physical comfort from them- is that gay? Is it gay when a best friend tells the other they love them, or they are happy to have them in their life? Some people say yes, some say no. At some point though most people will say there is a line where things become “gay.” Feeding your friend who is hungry? Bandaging a wound? Getting them off with your hand even though you’re not into it but you know they could use it? Hell- isn’t masturbation just an orgasm from same sex contact? “But I’m thinking of the opposite sex!” Ok. Then what if you’re getting oral from the same sec but thinking of the opposite sex? Where is “gay” exactly? Who knows. Be you. And if it bothers you that many things women do together aren’t considered gay but it is for a man- do them if you like. Only you know what your sexuality is so do you and change what is “gay.”
I suppose it’s in the eye of the behomolder. I mean- one might say it was “homo” if a man spent a good deal of his time talking about and fawning over how awesome another man is- if he spent his free time admiring that man’s physique, if he knew the intimate details of his life even if they’d never spoken, if a man wore another man’s clothes to feel closer to that man, and enjoyed watching that man wear tight clothes and physically exert himself while touching other men barely clad in tight clothing. Of course- some would just call that “sports night”- so the degree to which it is homo would primarily have to do with wether the person in question felt any sexual excitement or eroticism from the thing. Since I take no sexual excitement in posting- I shall say it is effectively as minimal homo as I am capable of.
But then again, she wasn't abused like us so idk.
