If anything more people need to skip school. Theres a serious shortage of tradespeople and a serious glut of spoiled brats who think their degree in interpretive basketweaving entitles them to a six figure salary.
And you don't know if what they are doing is something they love doing.
Some people LOVE working on cars, or being a plumber, or working in construction.
My Uncle Harry is a street sweeper and he LOVES his job.
When I was in high school I was always friendly to the lunch ladies and the custodians. There was one elderly man there who said he worked many different jobs in his life but his favorite job was working at the school. Because he got to see so many amazing kids grow up to be such important people.
So yeah don't tell your kids you need to go to college or you end up like them.
Say you need to be kind to not only them but all workers because they help the world keep turning. Not everyone can be a CEO or a Doctor. But everyone has a chance to do what they love.
And to behonest I would rather have my daughter doing a job she loves that is low pay than a job she hates that pays alot.

For pretty much my entire life, my mom quietly degrades laborers and retailers. In my mom's head, not going to college is a terrible offense and a waste of one's life. She has no problem snapping at baristas, phone-line workers, etcétera. Thankfully she's gotten a lot better over the years, but I vividly remember her screaming into the phone at a woman working at our bank. I remember feeling helpless, embarrassed, and so deeply ashamed. A lesson to everyone: don't think that just because you have a college degree, you are better than someone who doesn't, and don't fucking yell at people who are just doing their jobs.
