Same with numbers, days of the week, months, hours. Someone came up with everything somewhere along the way and the person next to them said OK. Sounds good.

Who said the first number had to be called "one" or show as numeric 1 though? Or be called numbers to begin with? All made up somewhere along the way

Well idk about why numbers have their specific names but I do know that the symbols for each number was decided that way because it contained the same number of angles as the number, eventually they became more rounded as that was just easier to write

Still someone's made up rule. Point is, everything we "know" today is someone else's "made from scratch". All man "made up". Dollars, cents, material possessions, everything.
