Ok honest question. I get it that girls like tall men. But why the short hate? What is it about us men under 5'10 that a person may find so repulsive that they feel compelled to say such things?
I have nothing whatsoever against shorter guys. They can't help their height any more than I can-- speaking as a girl who's nearly 6'1-- and are people just like anybody else. :P
I guess it depends on their preferences. Some of us have “dream guys“ in our minds. We fancy who we prefer. A vast majority may like tall guys but, I guess it‘s almost the same case when some guys prefer women who have “endowed mammary glands and a big posterior“
Speaking anthropologically, there might be several interpretations of your observation. It could be a function of the irl social groups in which you circulate. On the internet, it's a running joke that women hate short guys, obviously-- which may be because women feel they can come out and say that with little to no real-life repercussion. Even when people know who you are, there's still a degree of anonymity, or at least separation from daily life. IRL, however, such observations are generally kept in confidence between groups of female (or even gay) friends. Just like any decent and/or intelligent guy wouldn't go about declaring his disdain for small-chested women for all to hear, not many women broadcast their dislike of short men to the world at large. It helps avoid unnecessary conflict and maintain others' opinions of the person in question.
There's also the option that the 'short' hate is a self-perpetuating cycle. People with no real opinion one way or the other might jump on
The bandwagon they see rolling along because...
-it's considered cool or fun
-they find the standing joke amusing and want to contribute to it
-it's the human condition to be predisposed toward that to which we were first introduced (in this case, the notion that tall is good, short is bad.) IRL, this vicious cycle does not ostensibly exist, or at least to such an extent...
A third possibility is that the majority of women do indeed prefer taller over shorter guys, but are simply subtle about it. They demonstrate their preference by choice of partner instead of obvious and relatively unnecessary jokes about the fact: deeds, not words. Of course, some combination of all of the above may be correct... Or none. Hehe.
.
Sorry for nerding out ^-^'
I like the idea of my partner being tall cause I'm short so you know, it's genes and all that stuffs
But if I like someone, I like them and that's it.
If someone has feelings for you but chooses otherwise bc of your height, you probably dodge a bullet.
As a 6 foot 4 male, I still don't agree with the "how tall are you?" Question being okay but the "how much do you weigh?" Not being okay. I mean in all realism, none of these things should really matter but I'll be damned if a chick asks me how tall I am then gets mad when I ask how heavy she is.
Well, it's no good perpetuating stereotypes... Why not ask her instead why she thinks it matters? If you go deep enough, you're bound to find either a good reason she thinks that way, a good way to persuade her otherwise, or a good excuse to not continue your conversation any further. Kinda like asking why a sexist joke is funny-- people get awkward as hell trying to explain it, heh.
.
Incidentally, don't forget the weight thing can also be relative to height. I'm 155 lb, which is probably considered pretty damn heavy for the average woman, but ain't much more than muscle and bone for a six foot Amazon. ;P
As a below 6 foot dude I get that girls can prefer a tall guy and as a result not be interested and its perfectly ok.
But at the same time.... any girl shallow enough to ASK that is an instant 'no' in my book. I have personal preferences in term of physical appearance too, but i would much rather meet someone in real life and see if we click (both physically and personality wise) than try to check a buch of boxes over the internet.
I've met a few girls who didn't fit some of my 'criteria' and who I actually found crazy attractive.
It's ok to have physical preferences, but I feel like if youre 'stuck' in them to the point where you instantly turn down anyone who doesn't fit an imaginary checklist then you're probably shallow.
PS : I'm aware of the irony behind my statement, and I stand by it.
...Really? I'm nearly six foot one, and fighting fit (literally-- I'm a martial artist) at 155.
I put your proposed measurements into a smart BMI calculator and received this result:
"The calculation of the body mass index is based on a height of 6 feet (183 cm) and a weight of 200 pounds (90.7 kilogrammes).
BMI = 27
Your body mass index (BMI) is calculated as exactly 27.1 kilogrammes per square metre.
Health aspects
Your weight is at a somewhat elevated level; in our view, it may be less than optimal for your health. By classification of the WHO, you are "overweight".
Your body fat mass seems to be a slightly above average. But health ought not be affected provided your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels remain at moderate values. This could be more likely if you have a higher muscle mass and a lower amount of body fat."

Out of genuine curiosity, what brings you to your conclusion?
In uniform, if I'm under 200 I look sickly skinny since my breasts and hips/buttocks are larger.
I am also a Law Enforcement Officer, with higher muscle mass, but everyone's body is different. Under 200 as a taller female is sickly skinny for me.
Standard BMI doesn't account for a lot of factors, which is why my state wont use it for health standards.
So good for you.

It's that simple
