If it's ingested in large quantities it's possible that something that ultimately kills them "could" develop. However, brief limited exposure even orally is harmless. In fact "In most areas of the United States, low levels of uranium are found in the drinking water. Higher levels may be found in areas with elevated levels of naturally occurring uranium in rocks and soil." Not all uranium emits dangerous levels of radiation. Learn what an isotope is. Go pick up a rock. Did you die? No. Go sit in a corner.
