I 'steal' the hotel shampoo, conditioners, soap, body wash, etc, and then I donate them to my local women's shelter.

Not sure if this is true. But I've read that they throw away the toiletries even if they haven't been used.

Most of the time they throw away toiletries if they are open, but not if they are still sealed.

They put it there for your use, whether you use it there or at home later it's still yours to use.

I have asked hotels if they have extra I can pass on to shelters. Sometimes they give me box of them.
