Imagine saying yes, getting your money and as you call your s.o. to let them know, they excitedly tell you they just got 100 000$. You then slowly realize it wasn't about conscious hatred and start to question little things in your relationship.

Yeah- humorously enough there was just a post on this very site paraphrasing an old quote about how the only time we should worry what others have is if we are worried they don’t have enough. Of course sadly- as reality often demonstrates in issues like welfare, aid, etc- many people in America and abroad would be upset if they got $50k and a person they didn’t even know got $5k- because “why should they get money for doing nothing?” Many tax funded social burdens would actually cost us less money by funding preventative or mitigation programs- but those programs often “give free” things to others and so we would rather lose more money dealing with the mess than see someone “get something for nothing.”
