I looked into it. This is 100% true.
The reason they gave the dog up for adoption was the dog who is called Zuzu became clinically depressed after their other dog passed away and the family didn't have the ability to care for a dog who will need specialized care.
So they gave her up to get her the help. They did get another animal.
As for Zuzu she is now adopted by a new family who has another dog and is able to care for Zuzu and her special needs.
As a owner with 3 special needs animals I can sort of understand it isn't for everyone to have to care for an animal who needs specialized care.
Marshie who has Social Anxiety and needs meds.
Mia who has depression due to separation anxiety needs to be around people constantly and special ointment for her back where she eats her hair if left alone to long.
But the worst is Boogie poor sweet Boogie is mentally challenged and a forever kitten. She is going through an Anorexic phase she goes through often and now has a feeding tube.
It can be very hard to care for special needs animals. Even just Mia or Marshie who have just emotional problems. It's not for every one.
Now the fact they saw the dog and still went to get a new one is heartbreaking.
But atleast they didn't just buy a puppy they went to the pound to get a dog who needs a home.
I just dont give up on someone animal or human just because they need more care than others.
I took care of my grandmother when she became to old to care for herself. I took care of my husband's grandfather when he had colon cancer. I am always helping my husband who has anxiety due to his parents screwing him up when he was growing up. And as for animals I was always the one there nursing and caring for them. I would find baby grackles in TX. and raise them. We would get sick/motherless kittens I would help them best I can. So when I happen to get an animal with problems I don't stop loving them I show them more love and take care of them best I can.
I will even care for my worse enemy till they were better. lol I took care of my husband's grandmother when she had a heart attack. She hates me because she hates all woman. She accused me of being on the FBI most wanted list saying I stole teacher checks in TX. We had to have a cop show up and take my information to prove she lied.
We were living with them at the time. After the cop said I was clean with no problems she said "YOU LITTLE LIER! I know you stole them just admit it! You have all that money hidden away!"
I yelled back "IF I HAD A SHIT TON OF MONEY DO YOU HONESTLY THINK I WOULD LIVE WITH YOU! YOU WHO CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN WOMAN THE WIFE OF A PREACHER YET IS COLD HEARTED AND CRUEL!"
I broke down and cried due to that and everyone ganged up on her lol. Calling her out saying she was a bad Christian. Saying she is going to hell for trying to pass judgement on me and casting false eyes upon me. Lol
Yeah so if I can find the heart to care for her after that than I would find no problem caring for a special needs animal.
Cause I know I don't.
