Most men who have all those gauges can’t understand them. They are usually lucky to just be able to read them. Someone told them or they read somewhere that they shouldn’t exceed a certain boost or egt or oil pressure etc- but they don’t know what it really means. They don’t understand what the data means or how it’s related- and a HUGE amount of the time they don’t actual need them. No tunable pcm, maybe a stock engine with some bolt ons- running around with an EGR gauge on a stock 2 wire O2... that sort of thing. So it isn’t even that they know what they’re doing or understand the gauges- they just think they do and most people understand them even less so it works until they meet someone who really understands.
