Of all the stories, why is this Medusa? Why not Athena, Afrodite, Hera? Any female really except the lady who was gifted (by a goddess) a defense system after being assaulted in a temple.
the whole "bad guy who heroes fought and died against" thing is a changed version of the story. originally she was the victim and she was given a defense mechanism to protect her from being raped again. Women in the area of greece where the story originates wore the symbols of her and had symbols of her in safe places to protect against assault and rape. The bad guy part came later by others retelling the story differently.

Yeah, her story is quite sad honestly. A beautiful woman raped in her goddesses temple for no reason other than that, and instead of the man being punished, she is delivered a “curse”, which is really just a blessing in disguise. Then comes along men who want to kill her for the fact she’s now ugly enough to protect herself by turning people to stone
Alternatively remake the Percy Jackson films in the same fashion as the Harry Potter series. That is have them follow the books very closely and have a proper series.
What exactly do you mean? As a book series, Percy Jackson was excellent. But the movie adaption ruined it. Why can’t they remake it with someone who actually has read the books and a proper series that is actually good.
