Gotta admit... It looks gay but it's ugly. One more reason to be ace.
Edit : it would look far less gay if they weren't two guys presenting it (not that I wanna assume anyone's gender).
I get what they were going for.
Blue and pink meaning only male and female. Than linked male and female symbol meaning male and female married.
But it looks like a kid designed it.
How ugly it is etc. has been covered. What gives me a chuckle is that their flag demonstrates the fluidity of gender. Pink was originally a masculine color- in fact for a long time in history “pink” wasn’t its own color. Old times used to be like that and shades of color were often just called one name. Pink is a shade of red and red, was masculine- thus so was pink. Best anyone can tell pink became a “feminine color” because a department store needed some marketing so they branded some baby stuff as being for boys or girls based on color (this was within the 20th century.) So seeing the colors and genders of that flag to me is just a big banner saying “gender and gender roles are fluid social constructs.” Which I doubt was hat they’re going for which only makes it funnier.
Gender is defined not purely as coinciding with sex- but as a social concept. That is where much confusion in discussion of gender comes from, gender does not refer exclusively to biological sex. Gender and the “gender roles” assigned by society ARE fluid. The concept of what “makes a man” a “woman” a “lady” change through time and place. The biological SEX of a human is not fluid, and by definition at present refers to a Male or Female based on reproductive function and genetics. So unless you have evidence to the contrary, I’m going to trust science and the dictionary and say- yeah. Gender IS fluid as a concept.
