Lol. Apt to the other thread we are in! Funny enough I’ve met plenty of Linux idiots. One can be quite intelligent and still be dumb, and watching someone go through a lot of extra steps to make something work in Linux that is one touch in Windows or Mac is funny and sad at once. Linux has gotten much friendlier in recent times. It even has a GUI now which is pretty nifty. They’ve also worked out a lot of compatibility issues too. All three are solid choices for different things. My home server is a Linux box. The macs and hackentoshes like talking to it. The Windows machines took a little more work.

Now Ubuntu can solve many tasks in one touch. Yes, some cases require skills in linux but if you are IT it is not problem. But win requires "win skills". It is just question of habit of using. When i used win i had more problems.

Yes. Linux is much friendly now than it once was- many distros are available that asides from the skills required to install the OS (assuming you had a Mac or Windows machine or a DIY-) can be used by the “average user” without any special steps. There is even a much wider range of software available for pure Linux machines than ever, and for a slight extra effort drivers and other community driven solutions that tend to require little effort from a user exist to use all manner of software and peripherals that weren’t designed with Linux in mind. It’s not so different than going from OSX to Windows as far as things being different. But most people with experience on a personal computer tend to have the bulk of it with OSX or Windows so for the “average” person it will be a little different. But there isn’t one major OS that is any “smarter” than any other- just what works best for each person and use case.

Honestly it’s getting hard to tell them apart nowadays.

Honestly, I’d rather be an idiot who can afford a Mac. Smarts hasn’t done me any favours
