You must be pretty dumb to think makeup causes acne.
My cousin who has never wore makeup for her entire life got acne.
My acne actually has gotten better after I started wearing makeup.
I never said it was the ONLY cause.
Anywho, your acne would've cleared up after you started wearing makeup because makeup removers also get rid of oils on your skin and moisturise it.
So....
...literally both can be true.
.
Acne is not exclusively caused by makeup in most cases.
.
However, makeup can most certainly cause or worsen acne. As can the applicators, which (along with a lot of makeup palettes themselves) often are not cleaned properly or often enough, leading to a build up of bacteria.
.
Some ingredients clog pores. Some don't agree with peoples' skin types.
.
Not all makeup will cause reactions in all people when used correctly, but it can most definitely be a cause or contributing factor.
In fairness- not all acne comes from makeup. Most doesn’t. In fact a majority of acne isn’t bad skin care or lifestyle- it’s just hormones and other things. People sometimes say “well if you have a tendency to acne wash more or do this or that...” but- that’s not how it works. At a point, over washing can lead to other skin problems- even if you use “xyz gentle remedy.”
That being said- make up CAN cause acne. Some people have sensitive skin and if they wear makeup most be careful what they choose. Some make up uses ingredients like oils, petroleum and related products etc, which can cause acne (especially if it isn’t thoroughly removed, worn too long or frequently, or the person has a sensitivity.) So acne isn’t caused by make up, but some acne CAN be caused by make up.
Most of the times, it's genes, diet, hard water and pollution, not makeup.
My expensive foundations and powders are way more loveable to my skin than the polluted environment I can't escape.
Saying makeup causes acne is as ignorant as saying people got acne bc they don't wash their face enough.
Saying make-up indisputably is never a cause of acne is as ignorant as saying make-up is the sole contributing cause of all acne in every person.
.
Creative already clarified she wasn't saying it causes acne all the time in every person.
.
And for technicalities sake, it doesn't really matter how expensive the makeup is - if you layer it on too thickly or leave it on too long (or if it has abrasive chemicals or poor products despite it's pricepoint) chances are it will eventually make you break out or cause rashes or other problems.
Lol. Yes. Often the men who complain about the “lie” of makeup are the men who think “natural look” is one which can only be achieved by most women through using makeup; and get upset or put off when women don’t wear make up or even call them “ugly” or tell them to “put effort into their appearance.”
Saying makeup is a “lie” is like saying a haircut is a lie or clothing is a lie etc. People grow facial hair, get piercings, tattoos, apply make up, wear styles or cuts that compliment them and get haircuts that fit them. Make up, colored contacts, your choice of glasses frames or sun glasses- these aren’t lies. Many men and women also pluck their eye brows or pluck unibrows. Are these lies? No. If you don’t like the way women look in makeup or object to make up- don’t date women who wear it. If you can’t tell she’s wearing make up... man. Pay closer attention.
