i’ve been washing mixed for the last 15 years and literally none of my clothes have ever been discolored

Old clothes don't do so visibly, but compared to a shirt that's been separated adequately you can see the difference over 5 years.

I think laundry detergent has improved and it's now not as big of an issue as it used to be

I used to think this after just throwing everything in to save money when i first moved out. worked fine for years until it didnt and now I separate.
