The original Xbox controllers were huge. Even many like myself with large hands found them hard to manage. It was a major problem in Japan. Xbox made smaller controllers for Japan, and these basically became the default size world wide- the size current Xbox one controllers are based on. It’s true that in general women have smaller hands. It’s also true that many women find most factory controllers to be too large to be comfortable. The space between triggers and grips or even between buttons can be awkward or make doing combos etc. more difficult and mess with timing.
Likewise- I’ve many times watched games friends or my partner struggle to work a controller as their nails got in the way or even got caught on controller protrusions or hit unintended buttons.
So yeah- the idea of a “gender neutral” or “female friendly” controller makes good sense. Now- is making a controller smaller and green “gender neutral?” I dunnoh. Is Google pandering to females? Maybe. Maybe women should be insulted by this. Maybe men should be insulted for women. The “controller with tits” thing sounds more like a person insulted by the concept of trying to include women than someone who finds pandering insulting TO women though.
Lol. Best guess...? Maybe... 1/2 inch or so? I dunnoh..? Like... what I’d call about standard length for “glam” lady nails? Usually about half a nail bed or so protrusion past the finger? It seems to be more common in my observation on “flatter” controllers like old Nintendo and SNES. But I’ve seen it happen on newer consoles too.
Can we just fucking standardize the basic design of playstation controllers already? Put different bells and whistles on it, whatever what company wants, but for fucks sake, if it ain't broken don't try to fix it.
Nintendo being the exception, they can get away with whatever the fuck they want, let them be the test lab. I mean, as bad as the N64 controller was, most of the time it was used like a diagonal PS controller. Ironically that led to the Game Cube controller, which had better triggers than the ps2 controller... about the only area that could have been upgraded upon before adding features like dual shock and wireless and blue tooth...
