Lol. Those things do have some limited practical applications where the effort, ability, etc. to do otherwise isn’t an option. For example: Some cars (a few models are nefarious for this) have faulty passenger weight sensors and sometimes repair/replacement requires a whole new seat or some other huge expense/effort- otherwise even without a passenger the belt dings while driving because it thinks there is a passenger. These can stop that.

Another example: it is generally ill advised to use “racing harnesses” for street driving for numerous safety reasons. But one might have a car which sees track and street use, and so the belts might be used on the street and harnesses at the track. One might not want to or be able to disable the seat belt warning- but might not want it to be on while at the track using harnesses- these can solve those problems too.

For various uses in “closed course” low speed filming or experiments these could be useful as well- and while personally I feel a seat belt should be worn at all yikes in a vehicle (even when not moving should you get hit while parked, parking brake failure etc...) it is perfectly legal to drive on private property with non public roads without a seatbelt. “Ranch trucks” are a perfect example- and someone moving from location to location on private land, frequently getting in and out of the vehicle to load, unload, open/close gates, do chores, etc. etc. it is a real hassle and potentially will wear out safety belts buckling and unbuckling each trip of just a few yards or so even. And they might not want to listen to the dinger day in and out.

So personally I don’t condone not wearing seatbelts in general but can see some situations where it is relatively safe (or a calculated risk) and even legal not to do so. That being said wether legal or “safe” or not- it’s a persons choice in my mind if they want to take on certain safety and legal risks or not and some people do use these on the road to avoid the annoyance of the buzzer.

Anything over 5 lbs in my passenger seat and my Camry won't shut the fuck up. It's so annoying.
