In an emergency, heck... just about any day of the week really... pretty close to the last thing on my mind is going to be worrying about who sees me naked. Other than that- I can’t think of many emergencies (at least feasible ones close to where I live) where being naked is likely to be some serious disadvantage.
If the building is on fire and you have to get down to the ground floor having clothes on decreases your chance of getting a serious burn if something on fire or very hot brushes against your body in a place that would be covered had you not been naked.
Would serve a similar purpose in other emergency situations in that it would make probably the least life threatening part of it less dangerous.
Certainly. We did invent clothes for practical reasons- they have many potential benefits. I just don’t see where there is a serious detriment to not sleeping in clothes. In a fire- pajamas aren’t going to generally cover hands or feet- two of the most common and sensitive places for burns. If you sleep in certain synthetics it may actually be worse because they can melt into your skin. But if you’re naked and want some type of covering for your body, head, face- a sheet or pillowcase or blanket can be used even if it may be slightly more cumbersome. I dunnoh. Like I said- for me it isn’t an issue. I live in a one story on the ground. There’s a window next to my bed. I’m rolling over and out, naked as the day I was made or in my panties.
But to your point- there are many situations and particulars where having clothes of some type would serve to ones benefit, and in general from s preparedness standpoint- having some sort of clothing on when one goes to bed is probably “safer” to bet on- especially in some “doomsday” scenario or mass catastrophe. I would certainly want clothes on if a nuclear weapon started the fire.
The nakedness of my sleep is entirely dependent on the location, and therefore the temperature, humidity, pillow count, blanket count, and rest item, of my sleep. I'm not going to sleep naked on my friend's recliner, but a one night stand I'll probably wind up sleeping naked in their bed. As I usually sleep on my couch, and other people use my couch, I sleep in boxers and shorts on my couch. If I'm sleeping on my bed, it depends on my covers. I have my blankey (yes, I'm 30 and have a blankey, fuck you, it's super comfy), but when I use that I'm usually on top of the quilt since I don't like making my bed in the morning. If i'm going under the quilt, I'll probably go nude because even though the reason I'd do that is because it's cold, keeping boxers and shorts on can cause... sweat, as the quilt insulates well.
If someone sees me naked, good for them.
Imma sleep as comfortablly as possible and nothing is stopping me.
