I hate to spoil your communion, but they've found much larger ones alive and well even as recently as 4 years ago (33 ft found in Brazil, although I'm sure there are other examples)
@xvarnah there have been reports of that snake, but it was never confirmed. Anacondas have a tendency to die off a few feet shorter, and a few hundred pounds lighter, as their frame leads to them crushing themselves without water, and the region hasn't exactly been flooding this past decade.
The weight claims are far more insane than the length claims.
Still, I'm sure there's been an anaconda bigger than 26ish feet out in the world since this one. There were some pretty decent pics of the anaconda I was talking about in the article to go with it, but I suppose I have no way of actually confirming any of it
