Can y'all not pass around your unverified theories as absolute fact just because it sounds plausible?
.
"The earliest attested use of 'shucks' as an interjection was in 1847 (OED Online). The earliest attested use of 'shit' as an interjection was in 1865 (op. cit.). Therefore, suggesting that 'shucks' originated as a euphemism for 'shit' ignores the significantly earlier attestation of 'shucks'."
.
And as for heck I can find many theories of it's origin, none of which mention any known connection OR verification of it being connected to the word "fuck." The word was first recorded in the 1850s apparently, and the only consistently agreed upon thing is that it is used to mean hell. Outside of that the exact origins seem to be unclear, but people have suggested it may come from a word for a loom, a Scottish word "hech," or even be Danish in origin.
A facility in which social distancing is already enforced, and your entire body is doused in soap and hot water is definitely the last place I want to catch anyone during a pandemic.
That sounds like a weird flex, but okay. Gyms wouldn't really be my first priority.
.
If that's what they want to do then that's up to them I guess. My advice would be don't go to the gym just because it's open
.
[also the gym area is not the same as a public shower]
Yeah.... sry ... I'll see myself out.
