Speaking of interviews and salary negotiation. How often do people successfully convince the company to pay you more when you're not a proven employee.

Depends on what the candidate brings to the table. I’ve had candidates come back and ask for more and if they were worth it I would go to bat for it. I tried to always start out with what they were worth but some had previous positions that paid more than the market rate and didn’t want to come down from that. Overall, it doesn’t hurt to ask for a little more. If the employer gets offended then it’s probably not a place you want to work anyway.

On a personal experience it's mainly about experience and how you well you can convince them.

There's no one example for that. If you can convince whomever is the hiring person of your worth, you can just illustrate through an example, but if you can do that, you're better served just going directly to the top and illustrating that in person; but that's going to be tricky as you'll have to find an open window for such an opportunity while never coming across as pestering. Obviously none of this shit works if you're turning in an online application, so if you can, face timing with an app is suggested if you can't do it in-person. Figure out what they didn't think of and know your price before going into such a meet. Vouchers on your behalf can help, but don't overload that, you don't wan't people talking for you to the point you don't get your own words in; plus then they are having the conversation with them and not you; in fact the vouchers are better left on paper; aim for a list so long they don't wanna read it all and would rather engage you.

Inspiring tales are a good idea, but also don't make them lengthy and make sure they are actually true; nobody wants a glorified liar stealing credit.

Always ask for more. If they can, they’ll give it to you. If they can’t, they’ll say so. Either way, they’ll know you wanted more and it will give you some leverage when you come back and ask for more.

Due to Corona virus, the company that hires me will pay my fee minus 10%. They do this for all external staff members, and it’s not a mutual agreement. Seems reasonable we work 10% less.
