Cuisine is a big part of one's culture, it's art from the way it looks, smells and tastes.
You don't put it all in a blender and chuck it down your throat.
You can eat cardboard and it doesn't come out much different from $50 steak.

Presentation is just as important as the actual taste of the food. Hell I have an entire QUARTER devoted to it in culinary school.
Presentation is key because it's supposed to entice the customer for more and of course it's "eye candy" we want to see pretty things it makes us happy. And I felt Ramsey struggle it was probably the only time in his life where he questioned his existence. Like how could something look so bad but taste so good... (Hint look in the mirror)
