Imo EVERYONE should have these masks rn and not just frontline workers. Do they need it more? Yes, but if everyone had them then it wouldn't be an issue
I still don’t get why so many people refuse to use the bottom elastic of their masks or why so many people still won’t wear any sort of face covering out
it's like the video of Rick Santorum Santoruming a mask by putting it on upside down and being absolutely committed to the bit despite a cop behind him whispering "that's not how you do it."
The “N95” shaming bothers me. Not saying this mask is or is not, or that the guy in the pic is or is not an idiot etc. but lately lots of people see people in N95 masks and get upset.
1. Many people already HAD n95 masks BEFORE the pandemic. Many had USED masks before the pandemic. Most hospitals and front line workers may not take your sealed masks if you tried let alone your opened ones or “only used once” masks. If you have it- you may as well use it, and an N95 sanitized and used 5 tikes isn’t as effective five as new- but its as effective or more effective to protect you and OTHERS than a flipping bandanna or cheesey felt mask.
2. Asides people living their lives- there are many essential workers that people- including first responders, rely on to be able to do their jobs. There are plenty of people who may not be a medical worker by trade but have people in their care who are at high risk and may face high risk exposure situations. There are people with AIDS or other health issues that can mKe it critical to their survival to use the best protection they an get.
Is this guy a tool? Don’t know him. Don’t agree with opening up yet, and his mask is on all wrong wether that functionally matters much being up for debate since again- many folks are wearing masks that absolutely do not offer any real protection to them or others- and many have their noses exposed. But shaming people for wearing N95 masks is ignorant. We don’t know their life story or how/when they got the mask- or that them having it deprived a healthcare worker of a mask.
