I don’t know that this is accurate. I think that people who try to hide symptoms or go out in public with symptoms or exposure are the ones that hide zombie bites.
I think that going outside under quarantine is the zombie film equivalent of.... going outside? Like when they say: “it isn’t safe out there!” Or “if you go out those doors, you could endanger us all...” I mean- that’s a pretty 1:1 analogy. There’s nothing underhanded about breaking quarantine- irresponsible? Maybe. In a zombie film the person that leaves is either the hero of the film or the one who spreads the infection more generally. It’s probably better to stay home right now- but the analogy to hiding zombie bites is flawed.
Iirc New Zealand police set up an independent website because so many people were reporting their neighbours for walking their dogs and other deadly activities like getting their mail
.
Canada tried to get people to install an app on their phone that would track everywhere they'd been and anyone they'd been in contact with
.
Israel was implementing anti-terrorist tactics
.
Would be much simpler if we'd just follow China's example and weld people inside their homes, really. That would make everything much more better
Not if your the one being stuck inside the house
Maybe for the greater good of society China’s system works, but for individuals it doesn’t sound great*cough cough*communism*cough cough *
I was being largely sarcastic tbh. I am entirely against welding people in their homes and far from in favour of reporting people for leaving their homes
It was very much a thing. Some accounts called it "sealed management" wherein the communist government party assured us the people in their homes would still be able to buy (with what money is unclear) food and water.
.
Other accounts were building managers or police literally welding the bars on buildings and leaving residents trapped inside. The government once again assured people that these were rogues and that the government had ordered the bars removed.
.
As we all know the government of China never ever distorts the truth
I mean, nobody likes a tattle, and the vast majority of people are doing their best to keep themselves quarantined. It's the weird nutjobs that get airtime on TV that give everybody a bad name.
I'm still trying to get past getting the mail being described as a deadly activity. I mean, I get the point of the absurd, but the phrasing is downright hilarious. That was a good swing.
In the United States the Army is an all-volunteer force and serving in it comes with a set of responsibilities and privileges that nobody in the civilian world will ever have. Getting kicked out early is embarrassing, means reduced benefits, and denies you any experiences you may have wanted.

I thought it was a figure of speech
