Or everyone just listen to what sounds good to them?ill be honest i don’t really know what most of the people I listen to look like. (unless they slap their face on the cover art or have cool music videos)

I honestly prefer not knowing what they look like because attractive or not my brain has a hard time reconciling peoples' singing voices with their faces

The good thing about Spotify is that it removes this competitive aspect. People listen to the music, not the face

Sometimes you get rare cases like post malone where the music is bad AND hes super ugly!

All you have to do is look past the usual mainstream charts, and actually find your own goddam style. It's not hard. I'm a metal head. Nothing, literally nothing I listen to, can be heard on commercial channels.
