I swam with sharks once :D
Ok so we were on a trip to Nassau, and we got to go on a snorkeling trip. The final stop on the trip was to snorkel with sharks. A lot of people didnt want to go in bc sharks are freaky, but I was more than willing to hop in. Well, I was one of the last people in, and as soon as I went in I was told to immediately get out bc the sharks were getting too agressive with the boat. Well then! Before I got out, I put my face under the water for 1 second just so I could see the lil fuckers (I paid for sharks, I'm seeing the fuckin sharks). Sure enough, there were about half a dozen down there circling around looking fierce. After that I got back onto the boat (no toes were lost, have no fear), and we got to watch some of them feed on some chum the driver put out there before we left.
Same! I thought they felt smooth, but it was a while ago, I might be wrong. We were supposed to pretend that we had food in our hands so the rays would come closer. Then, as they passed, you would flip your hand and pet them.
I have held-on to a dolphin's fish and been given a "ride" through the water. I also kissed the dolphin (each person did it for a photo op, but now that it is written out, it sounds creepy). I've pet stingrays. I've been scared to death by barracudas while snorkeling over an artificial reef. There was a fake shipwreck with holes in the side of the sunken ship, and I dove down to see what was there, and was freaked out by the barracudas swimming around before I realized they had a glass barrier that was almost invisible in the water.
Nu goldfish Nico died when I was 7. I went to my Mom to tell her. She asked me who Nico was. So, while crying, I told her. Her response? “Oh, I’ll just flush him down the toilet!”
So, you need to leave out water dishes for horses and large outdoor animals just like a cat or dog. Big metal “drums” full of water. But- being left out as standing water- you’ll get bugs and algae and such. Horses don’t help since they are backwash champs and will leave alfalfa and what not in the water- and the water can get very gross very fast. So you put fish in water troughs and they eat big eggs and clean algae and such.
Winter comes, the horses go indoors, the water freezes. One year in the spring, beneath the ice layer on one of the troughs is.... something. Moving. And BIG. turns out- one of the fish survived there under the ice all winter alone. It started out a gold fish- but was practically a koi! It was brought inside in an aquarium and would leap out of the water from time to time like a dolphin. That was one tough fish.
When my oldest brother and 2nd oldest were just 7 and 6 our grandparents took them and my parents on a day out to the lake. There our grandpa was fishing and brought extra fishing poles for my brothers. Well they were fishing on this bridge and under it were a few guys fishing as well.
My oldest brother cast his line and said he got something.
My grandpa told him to hurry reel it in. So he starts to reel in the line. He struggles with it because it was a toy fishing pole but he finally gets it. The fish comes in site and everyone sees it. My brother grabs the line above the fish and asks. Are they supposed to look like this?
The fish he pulled up was already gutted lol it was nothing but a head, spine, and tail. lol
Apparently he cast his line into the guys below bin they discard their fish parts after gutting them.
My mom took a picture anyways because he demanded it lol. That picture hung in our living room till he was a teenager and he took it down from embarrassment. lol
