Most fears don’t make sense- but some we can continually reinforce logic to dispel. Let’s say one or several ARE serial killers? 1. Serial Killers generally have an MO. Your odds of meeting a serial killer, and fitting their MO are pretty low. 2. Most serial killers take attacks of opportunity. Otherwise they’d be caught pretty quickly. You can minimize your risks by taking simple steps to avoid situations where you are alone and isolated.
3. Learning to and being able to defend yourself can also help there. Now you have to meet a serial killer, who’s MO you fit, be in a compromised position, AND fail to identify and repel the threat. Very slim odds indeed.
Can still happen though. So... ultimately- it comes down to they are gonna kill you or not. If they kill you, nothing left to worry about- and you spent your last time on earth paranoid. If they don’t kill you- you never had anything to worry about- so you wasted your time and energy. And....
While you’re pontificating on all that, or who is it isn’t a serial killer- you could get caught in a drive by, hit by a drunk driver heart attack, aneurism, a piece of a space station or meteor could fall on you, killed by a rabid animal, get bit by a big and contract a deadly parasite, have an allergic reaction and die of shock.... so... your ticket comes up when and how it comes.
