Admittedly I don't know enough on the subject - and I am certainly not judging the survivors for what they did or didn't do. Survival was all anyone was ever hoping for.
.
Generally speaking, though, a pack of wolves would have a much more difficult time taking down a group of rabbits if the rabbits reminded them they have very very sharp teeth.
.
Many of the rabbits would still die, mind you. But maybe not AS many. Maybe not so horrifically.
.
But, again, easy to say when you're not there, trying to protect your loved ones etc. Can't say whether I'd be brave enough to do it in the same situation
There is not a single shred of hard evidence that the holocaust happened. There is plenty of evidence saying it was unlikely. It doesn't even make any sense.
Not really @ ewqua but partly brought to mind because of her, here's a link to a story about a man who found a lampshade made of human skin. Not that there's any certifiable proof that it's from a concentration camp, but if ever the systematic horror of what went on in those camps starts to fade from peoples' minds, it doesn't hurt to be reminded

I mean in some places in Europe, these concentration camps are still standing. Auschwitz, Terezín, Lidice (which wasn't a concentration camp but a village destroyed by the Nazis who were passing by) all exist as memorials. People can go visit and see what the "life" there was like. There are pictures, there are accounts of survivors, do deniers actually think that all these elderly people who went through hell are part of some Illuminati conspiracy or something?
I'm honestly curious what it is they're afraid they're admitting to if they acknowledge the holocaust did happen. Or what it is they're trying to explain away by denying it didn't.
.
I imagine it's the same kind of rush people get from denying vaccines and the roundness of the earth. Just a bit stranger when the evidence is right there in front of you. You can see it, touch it, talk to it, hear it
I think it's that "Everyone else is a sheep but I'm the one who saw the truth" kind of thing. Now, I heavily endorse skepticism and questioning the narratives of people in power but I feel like a lot of these truthers, whether it's 9/11 truthers, global warming skeptics, anti-vaxx, or Holocaust deniers, direct their skepticism the wrong way. They're skeptical towards the scientists who tell us we're nearing an environmental catastrophe, but not towards the oil companies who say everything is fine and we should keep buying their products. They're skeptical towards historians and historical records to the point they'd rather believe an unsourced YouTube video by some neonazi lunatic. They say vaccines are bad but buy essential oils from scammers that claim that stuff cures cancer. These snake oil salesmen are usually charismatic and manipulative so I suppose it's easy for some people to fall into the trap of believing you know better than everyone, but that's exactly how they get you.
My mistake, I assumed you'd have had some actual reason for saying that beyond the hallucinogenic.

Haha well tbh when people behave this way I'm usually on the fence about whether they're trolls or not. But given there was more than 1 person this time round, it seemed worthwhile to nip it in the bud, as well as just provide the info for any future passer-by. She seems like she was a very interesting lady

There's several dozen more but I'm bored now. If y'all could drink your books and read your medicine and stop acknowledging that this woman existed like the good little big-brains you are, that'd make a lot of weirdos much happier
