Basically, if you think you're too nice, you're probably not nice to begin with. Instead, it might be that you're entitled and
self-righteous.

“Hey why won’t you sleep with me, I’m nice”
“Because I’m not attracted to you”
“Wow whore, you should sleep with me because I treated you like a human being”
Its more understandable with the background knowledge of "nice guys"
Take this line for example:
"I'm nice, now you've gotta have sex with me"
It infers that all the woman can give for gratitude is a relationship. They feel that only being nice, and doing whatever a woman wants is all you need to form a relationship. Clearly, they don't take into consideration the woman's feelings.
i'm not nice, I try to be, I treat my gf and her family with respect, took me a long time to realise this. It's worth it, but I have to say, it's hard not to slip into complacency and not appreciate the moments with her.
I understand what "nice guys" are, but this gives me the opposite impression of a nice guy. Nice guys don't believe they are being rejected BECAUSE they're nice. They blame the woman for not appreciating how nice they are.
.
This cartoon depicts it as "I was nice and it's repelling women" which is a very different message imo.
.
But everyone else got it apparently so must just be me
Often it is yes. But it can also be low self worth of self esteem and/or poor socialization without a proper home life example so defaulting to tropes and such experiences through fiction- often fairy tales and the like. Those with little to offer a partner or who believe they have little to offer sometimes overcompensate by being “nice” as it lessens the risks of initial rejection while they ingratiate themselves. In this way it is also often- intentionally or not, a fork of manipulation. Codependency and a history of abuse can contribute to these sorts of behaviors.
