This is Sinnataggen/Grumpy, and is a statue made by Gustav Vigeland in 1928, and placed in Frogner park, Oslo in 1940, and has absolutely nothing to do with mask usage in the US

I think the good wizard is just giving us interesting information and isn't taking a stance or missing a joke anywhere.

I certainly appreciate the fun fact! Vigelands Park is one of the most visited attractions in Norway and the largest public sculpture park of one sculptors work in the world. If I were likewise being informative however- I would say that without disrespect to our good Wizard or to Jasonmon- we can’t say the sculpture has nothing to do with mask usage in America. The sculpture was created long before Covid 19 was known, and was not inspired by it or by America. But- Sinnataggen as the sculpture is nicknamed- or “angry child” or “irate child” as it is often called in English- is part of a series of men, women, and children displayed to explore the relationships between these groups.

In that way, and in its raw emotion we can certainly say it has some relation, which it’s reliability as much as the skill of the piece is likely what help make it a world famous artwork enjoyed by many through time for the better part of a century. So masks in America are not related to the creation of the statue- but- the universal image of an irate child throwing a tantrum can certainly be related to masks in America. In that sense- the statue as an object is not related but the statue as an artistic symbol can be related as the viewer perceives it.

Lol. I know right?. It sometimes is too abstract for me to deal with, and many corners and viewpoints. It’s meta- like discussing art is itself an art form. Weird. Also my auto correct has been doing weird things lately, I fixed a few I saw in my original comment but there may be more. Please forgive the errors.
